Franchisee of the Week Spotlight: Sherry Price

Sherry Price, Amazing Athletes North OC, CA

Sherry was born and raised in Orange County and resides in Cypress, California. She grew up playing multiple sports including softball, basketball, and volleyball. In high school, Sherry was a four-year varsity volleyball player and received many awards including first team all-league and MVP her Junior and Senior years. Her love for sports is never ending. She still enjoys playing on Co-Ed softball teams and in adult volleyball leagues. In addition to playing on sports teams, Sherry has begun to compete in triathlons.

She is a strong believer in physical fitness and staying active and Sherry brings these philosophies to every class she coaches. Along with her love for sports, she has a passion for working with children.

In 2006 Sherry began teaching at a preschool and fell in love with the children. She taught at the preschool for four years before joining the Amazing Athletes family. Currently, she is finishing her degree in Child and Adolescent Development at California State University, Fullerton.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I love working with children and I love sports.   Every child is so different, it makes every day and classes unique.

What do you find most challenging about your job?

Not being able to spend more time with the kids.

If you could go back to your first day on the job, what advice would you give yourself?

Don’t be nervous, as long as you are having fun, the kids will have fun.

What is your favorite sport to teach?

Football and lacrosse.  Football because it is so interactive and lacrosse because of its usually something entirely new to the kids and gets them excited.

What was your first job?

My first job was a preschool teacher when I was 18.

What is the one thing you cannot resist?

Sweets!  I have a huge sweet tooth!

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.

I have played sports my entire life and consider myself pretty athletic however I have never been able to get up on a wakeboard.
