Amazing Athletes South Bay, CA

Coach Nicolette, Owner

Nicolette was born and raised in South Africa and grew up in an active and outgoing family. She participated and competed in a variety of sports from a young age, including gymnastics, swimming, netball and biathlons.

Before moving to the US she completed her Bachelors degree in Human Movement Science and her Post Graduate degree in Child Kinetics. After graduating, she worked with children 3 to 7 years old as a Sport and Physical Development coach.

In 2004 she moved to the United States and worked as an HR Manager before deciding to return to her roots of physical fitness and motor development. She completed her Group Exercise Instructor certification in addition to joining the Amazing Athletes Family in 2012.

Nicolette loves the outdoors and strongly supports an active lifestyle. She believes that physical activity, structured or social, should be a part of every child’s life and she is proud to be a part of this adventure of all her Amazing Athletes!

Coach Michaela

Michaela Tricola was born and raised on the East Coast in New Jersey. Growing up in the small hometown of East Hanover, she played competitive soccer, basketball, softball, and volleyball. Once she got to high school, she began playing lacrosse. Her passion for sports and an active lifestyle is something that remains unchanged today. She attended Syracuse University in NY where she played club lacrosse her first year and then DII rugby her last three years. Rugby taught her that everyone has a place on the field regardless of skill level, size, and speed. She graduated with a BA in Italian Language, Literature, and Culture on the pre-medicine track. After graduation, she made the trek out to San Jose to work with Americorps on the Eastside. She found out that she loves working with kids, helping them grow, learn, and develop into the people that they aspire to be. Amazing athletes allows her to do just that through a curriculum that is near and dear to her heart: getting outside, sports and nutrition! Coaching is something that she never wishes to stop doing. Michaela is also a Registered Behavior Therapist and plans on attending Physician Assistant school in the next few years!
